Shimano - L05A-RF Resin - Ice Tech Disc Brake Pads
The L05A-RF replaces the L03A brake pad.
Synthetic resin pads offer reduced noise when braking in dry and wet conditions. However, the wear is increased and the temperature stability is somewhat limited. Shimano uses aluminum cooling fins for these brake pads, which dissipate the heat generated during braking and significantly reduce the tendency for the brake system to overheat! The border area can be clearly shifted.

General informations:
Resin brake pads are quieter than metal pads, but offer slightly lower performance and have higher wear. Metal pads have a longer service life than pads made of synthetic resin, are more fade-resistant and offer consistent deceleration in dry and wet conditions. Metal brake pads may generate noise during braking
Ice Technologies:
The fading which can occur to disc brake rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negative impact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice-Tech disc brake rotor and brake pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The disc brake rotor blade which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance achieving a lower surface temperature. Aluminium cooling fins have been adopted the brake pad improving the radiation performance even further. In combination the disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.Included in delivery: 1 pair of brake pads
